In the last week of January, the Programme Committee for AquaConSoil 2025 gathered in Liège for an in-person meeting. The primary focus was shaping the scientific aspects of the conference and, most importantly, reviewing all submitted abstracts. The committee is now in the final stages of finalizing the full scientific program.

This year’s program offers a diverse range of sessions designed to facilitate knowledge exchange, promote interactive discussions and showcase cutting-edge research and technological advancements.

Session formats

What can you expect? The program will feature a range of presentations that encourage interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration:

The technical sessions will consist of either five oral presentations or four oral presentations combined with three spotlight presentations. This allows for a more interactive program, in which more people are able to share their ideas. If you have any questions about these sessions, please contact us at programme.aquaconsoil@deltares.nl.

Beyond the sessions: pre-conference courses, excursions and in-situ demonstrations

Besides the sessions you can look forward to engaging pre-conference courses and a diverse array of excursions, ranging from scenic to scientific — and, of course, the chance to enjoy some authentic Belgian beers!

In Situ Special Session

The In Situ Special Session is dedicated to field demonstrations of innovative site characterization and soil/groundwater remediation techniques. Participating companies will have the opportunity to showcase their technologies directly on-site in Liège, demonstrating their capabilities in action and sharing insights into recent advancements and practical applications.

This interactive session offers a unique chance for attendees to connect and exchange with industry experts, discover cutting-edge technologies in real-site conditions, and discuss their applicability to various environmental challenges. By combining hands-on demonstrations with technical explanations, the session aims to inspire innovation and promote knowledge exchange in the fields of site characterization and remediation. Companies interested in participating in this special session are invited to submit an abstract. More information: Prof. Serge Brouyère (serge.brouyere@uliege.be).
